Jenn,
I saw an excellent article today from Michael Youssef addressing some of the issues with people of faith abdicating their responsibility for charity to the government:
 <a href="http://www.onenewsnow.com/Perspectives/Default.aspx?id=1365610" rel="nofollow">http://www.onenewsnow.com/Perspectives/Default.as...</a>
This has long been one of my soapboxes. Thanks for writing about it. This issue needs attention!

Wolverine Power is exactly what Michigan's economy needs right now to boost its economy and provide much needed jobs.

This is a clean coal burn plant that surpasses all requirements three fold and most importantly is not being built with any tax dollars, the money is coming form Wolverine Power. How can anyone say no to what will greatly help Michigan and its residents?

Do not let people who are not residents of the area shut this down. BUILD WOLVERINE POWERHOUSE!
Jennifer Grandholm and the Sierra Club do not have our best interests, do not let them short change Micihgan Residents.

Prarie State Energy Campus in Lively Grove, Illinois is building the largest clean coal fire plant for the past three years. The economy for the entire area has boomed from rentals for the 4000 employees to build it, to every kind of business in the area. Prarie State Energy Campus is immediately adjacent to the coal mine as Wolverine Power is adjacent to the limestone quarry ,which the huge amount of limestone used in the power house would insure the future of the predominant business in Rogers City and continued employment opportunities for the permenant jobs for the powerhouse.

Additoinally their would be hundreds of spin off jobs and opportunities for the local businesses from trucks, lumber, porta johns, mechanic, cement, excavating materials, piping, electrical, machinery, and all service industries serving the construction workers and permenant employees.

Southern Illinois supports the building of this clean energy source as a boom to their economy and job opportunity for their young adults graduating as well as experienced adults. It is time for Northern Michigan to return to providing a future for industry in the area.

Approval of this project would have a tremendous positive impact to Northern Michigan's economy.

The same people worried about dubious global warming are nowhere near as intense regarding factual global debt which will affect them now and in the immediate future. Opinion vs. facts. And many of these same people despise religion yet their environmental beliefs are more characteristic of a cult than any science. Furthermore, their views, when effected by law, creates debt which is already about to create a lot of misery and poverty.

"I am the Eco-nut to whom you refer." Sounds like you are comfortable with the name.

Directly from the EPA website, "A REC (pronounced: rěk) represents the property rights to the environmental, social, and other nonpower qualities of renewable electricity generation. A REC, and its associated attributes and benefits, can be sold separately from the underlying physical electricity associated with a renewable-based generation source. "

If the power companies aren't getting at least a piece of paper for their fake energy, then what is a contract?

And don't be ludicrous, David, Obama just got done saying, "By 2035, 80 percent of America's electricity will come from clean energy sources."

That is a national quota.

I am the 'eco-nut' to whom you refer. While I appreciate that you may not agree with my position on this issue, it is clear that you do not understand anything about what you opine. I am more than willing to explain the facts of the situation and how utilities are 'regulated' in Michigan, if you care, to participate in such a discussion. To start the discussion: the EPA does NOT issue any pieces of paper to wind farms and there are NO NATIONAL QUOTAS for green energy. The next move is up to you, or you just continue to call me names.
